Terms and Conditions
Effective date: May 13, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the MyVanity mobile application, related APIs, and any related website or support surfaces that link to these terms. By creating an account, accessing, or using MyVanity, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility and account use
You may use MyVanity only if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law and comply with these terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information reasonably up to date.
2. Informational use only
MyVanity provides educational information, product organization tools, ingredient summaries, compatibility signals, shopping guidance, and routine suggestions. The service is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for care from a licensed physician, dermatologist, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.
3. Your product-use decisions
You remain fully responsible for deciding whether to purchase, open, patch test, apply, combine, continue using, or discontinue any product, ingredient, or routine. MyVanity does not make the final safety decision for you and does not guarantee that a recommendation is appropriate for your skin, health history, allergies, prescriptions, pregnancy-related considerations, or current routine.
4. Accuracy and limitations
Product, label, ingredient, and compatibility information may be incomplete, outdated, estimated, reformulated, or wrong. Brand changes, packaging differences, scan ambiguity, OCR issues, AI output limitations, and third-party data quality issues can affect results.
You should always review current product packaging, ingredient lists, warnings, and official brand instructions before use.
5. Patch testing and risk awareness
Skincare and cosmetic products can cause irritation, purging, sensitization, allergy, dryness, photosensitivity, or other adverse reactions. You are responsible for patch testing where appropriate, following product instructions, and introducing actives cautiously.
6. Medical and emergency situations
Do not rely on MyVanity for urgent, emergency, or medically significant decisions. If you experience severe irritation, swelling, hives, breathing difficulty, infection, eye injury, or worsening symptoms, stop using the product and seek prompt medical attention. If you are unsure whether a product is safe for you, consult a qualified clinician before use.
7. User content
You may submit content such as product images, scans, chat prompts, routine notes, shelf data, and support messages. You retain rights you may have in your content, but you grant MyVanity a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and support the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
- interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the service beyond what applicable law permits;
- upload content that infringes third-party rights; or
- use the service to generate or distribute harmful, deceptive, or abusive material.
9. Subscriptions and paid features
Some features may require an active paid entitlement. Subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing are generally handled by the applicable app store and related subscription infrastructure.
If you purchase a subscription:
- pricing and billing terms are presented at the point of purchase;
- renewals, cancellations, and refund eligibility are subject to the rules of the applicable app marketplace and payment platform; and
- access to certain features may be limited if your subscription expires, is cancelled, or becomes inactive.
10. Service changes and availability
MyVanity may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time, including scan, assistant, dashboard, notification, shopping, or subscription-related functionality. MyVanity does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any feature will remain available indefinitely.
11. Intellectual property
The MyVanity service, including its software, branding, design, text, graphics, and related content, is owned by or licensed to MyVanity and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly allowed by these terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the service.
12. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by the MyVanity Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. MyVanity disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.
MyVanity does not guarantee product effectiveness, compatibility, tolerance, safety, or any cosmetic or health outcome.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyVanity and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, business opportunity, or product value, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyVanity is also not liable for irritation, allergic reaction, product waste, purchase decisions, routine outcomes, or other consequences arising from use of the app, its content, or its recommendations.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyVanity and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:
- your use of the service;
- your content;
- your violation of these terms; or
- your violation of applicable law or the rights of another person.
16. Suspension and termination
MyVanity may suspend or terminate access to the service if MyVanity reasonably believes you violated these terms, created risk for the service or other users, or if suspension or termination is required for legal or operational reasons.
You may stop using the service at any time. The current product also includes an account deletion flow.
17. Changes to these terms
MyVanity may update these terms as the product evolves. If material changes are made, MyVanity may provide notice through the app, website, or other appropriate means. Continued use of the service after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of MyVanity, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
If a dispute arises, you agree to first contact MyVanity and try to resolve it informally.
